Jersey Mutual's personal approach makes us unique.
When you join, a senior member of staff will visit you personally. The same person will visit you again should you need to make a claim, ensuring it is resolved quickly.
Most of our experienced staff have been with the Society for many years and some of their faces will probably be known to you. We believe our friendly approach will be of assistance in both determining the level of insurance you require and in dealing with claims should they arise.
In times of misfortune, our members can rely on a prompt and sympathetic response.
Lower Premiums
Because we are a Society your policy is held directly with us, not through a broker. Because of this we:
- Don't pay dividends to shareholders
- Don't pay comissions to agents
which means you can rest assured that you will always benefit from lower premiums without losing any cover.

In addition to offering policies which meet Jersey's particular needs at very competitive rates, we are very financially secure.
The Society has accumulated considerable reserves and established extensive reinsurance arrangements which guarantee your protection.

As Jersey's only insurance society, Jersey Mutual operates solely in the island to offer a better service at a most competitive price. With over 139 years of experience behind us our local knowledge and considerable financial strength enables us to provide you with an unrivalled insurance package.
Weathering the Storm
Our intimate knowledge of Jersey and the conditions we live in have been instrumental in developing the most suitable policies for your protection. It is significant that although we are Jersey's main provider of household insurance we met our commitments after the great storm in 1987 without resorting to increasing premiums - unlike most of our competitors!
A new face for the future
In 1976 we took up residence in our present Halkett Place offices. From there we witnessed Jersey evolve over a quarter of a century and at the turn of the millennium we felt that we needed to reflect the changes we saw around us.
To realise this intention, we set about the task of modernising our premises whilst retaining the essence of Jersey Mutual's long history.
Our century-long existence at the heart of the island's community became the central thought in our redevelopment plans. We were conscious not to lose the image and values we had worked so long and hard to build
The process was an evolutionary one as we extracted the finest of the Society's traditions and placed them in a new, modern context.
The vintage fire engine within our logo was retained to emphasise Jersey Mutual's historic origins and the traditional values upon which we have built our reputation.
The rich blue and gold colour scheme of the new logo acted as the basis for the interior design, reflected in the deep blue of the carpeting and the warm tones of the cherrywood furniture.
Each individual area satisfies its function extremely effectively whilst sharing the same design sensibility as the rest of the building.
Jersey Mutual Insurance Society will continue to serve its members in the manner they have grown accustomed to throughout previous generations.
